If you’re one of the thousands that would love to race at Kona one day and have not, you would do well to read this piece by Elizabeth Weil of Outside Magazine.
If you’re one of the many who have the person above in your life and shake your head cross-eyed at their life style, you will definitely get a kick out of this as well. Maybe you’ll even say, “I get it…” Maybe.
Regardless, Weil “gets it.” She pegs the spirit of the sport and the event in one of the more comprehensive looks at Kona in a non-tri specific publication I’ve ever read. Simply put, it is an incredibly accurate look into the sport of triathlon and the lives of the people who compete at the sport’s main event, The Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
